Multiplier Event in Kocaeli

The Mindmaths project KOU team held the multiplier event at the Kocaeli University Faculty of Education Servettin Bilir Conference Hall on June 22, 2022, at 11:00.

Kocaeli University Faculty of Education Dean Prof.Dr. Elif Çelebi Öncü also attended the meeting. It started with the opening speech of the Project Coordinator Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tuğba Konaklı. In the opening speech, innovation in education and the inclusive approach and elements required by the transformation in education were emphasized.

After mentioning the benefits of alternative approaches and robotic applications in mathematics education, the partners of the project and the project objectives were conveyed to the participants. IO1 and IO2 process of the project was explained to the participants and examples of the applications were shown by Assoc. Prof.Dr. Yusuf Koç and Assist. Prof. Dr. A.Arzu Arı. Assoc. Prof. Dr Yasemin Katrancı explained the pre-test and post-test results of the project in detail, as well as the views of faculty members, teachers, schools and university students about the project.

In addition, he shared the observation results of the students’ approaches to mathematics lessons in the practices in primary schools with the participants. In addition, the participants were asked questions about their observations about math anxiety. Primary school teachers, school principals and university lecturers working in various districts of Kocaeli attended the meeting. 25 face-to-face participants and 8 online participants participated in the multiplier event.
